About us
Andrew and I have always felt most alive when we’re in the mountains—hiking, trekking, climbing, and exploring. Nature has a way of grounding us, reminding us of who we are and what really matters. For us, the mountains are more than just a place—they’re a way of life.
Lagom Escapes was born from our shared passion for adventure, nature, and the outdoors. We wanted to create the kinds of hiking and trekking experiences that we’d love to go on ourselves. Not just trips, but journeys of self-discovery, where you’ll feel challenged, inspired, and completely immersed in the beauty of the natural world.
Vanessa, Founder
I grew up in the Pyrenees, where my love for the mountains began. Although I moved to the UK as a child, the pull of the peaks never left me. Years later, I met Andrew, who was training for an Everest expedition. Our shared passion for the outdoors brought us back to my roots in the Pyrenees, where we knew we wanted to spend the rest of their lives.
After years in the corporate world, I decided it was time for a change. Andrew became an International Mountain Leader, and I focused on creating authentic, life-changing outdoor experiences. Lagom Escapes was our chance to leave behind the grind and reconnect with the things that truly matter: nature, adventure, and people.
Andrew, UIMLA Mountain Leader
For as long as I can remember, the mountains have been my passion. They’ve been my escape, my challenge, and my inspiration. Whether it’s the thrill of reaching a summit, the serenity of walking through an untouched valley, or the camaraderie of a group trek, the mountains have always felt like home to me.
When I first visited the Pyrenees, I knew I’d found something special. The rugged peaks, vibrant culture, and quiet moments make this place unlike anywhere else. It didn’t take long for me to fall in love with the area and realise I wanted to share it with others.
As a qualified International Mountain Leader (UIMLA), this has allowed me to combine my love for the outdoors with my passion for guiding. There’s nothing I enjoy more than taking people into the mountains, helping them to challenge themselves, and watching them discover the magic of these wild and beautiful places.
